Description

In September of 2022 we went on vacation to Sicily. The outside temperature was still very hot, rising to 36 C on most days. But also the ground underneath me, while hiking Mt. Etna could be really hot at certain spots, where the lava was more close to the surface.

 

I remember the heat, coming from above and coming from underneath me. The rough volcano country with it’s beautiful nature.

 

It inspired me to make this painting, right when I got back home.
