Description

Painting calms my mind and spirit. It thus relieves me from worries and stress and -most of all- gives room for my mind to wander and then to focus again. It helps me clarify my thoughts and brings new ideas and new inspirations. Painting allows me to find solutions to problems I got stuck with, because of not taking time to contemplate.


Painting gives me space to reflect on life, people I know, the world around me. It helps me put things into perspective and to clarify my priorities.

While painting my mind wanders off. I have a sense of direction where I am going with my painting, but contemplating on topics other than my painting often gives me great inspiration for techniques and forms and colour compositions in a painting.


In this painting my contemplating inspired me to use 2 different kinds of mother of pearl paint. It leads to different light reflections when looking at painting detail from different angles.


Mixed media on Acrylic bases, on canvas, 83cm x 63cm x 4cm (incl luxurious frame).
