Description

In the summer of 2020 we had fantastic weather, clear skies and a warm temperature. It was lovely to work outside on the terrace overlooking the garden. As I looked into the garden, I saw the colours of flowers and shrubs, some close by, some further away, blending into each other. Swaying gently in the wind, back and forth, back and forth.


It inspired me to incorporate these colours, the way they flowed into each other and the way the gentle wind moved them, in a painting. A painting with an intriguing form, as intriguing as nature is to me. And connected through life, represented by a snakeskin with scales, radiant with light of life.


The name Ophidia derives from the Ancient Greek word ὀφίδιον (ophídion), meaning "small snake".
