Description

This is the fifth painting of the "good food cooking" series, called: Child's play and adult joy.

From a quote of Craig Claiborne, who said: Cooking is at once child’s play and adult joy.

The background of my inspiration for this series of paintings:

Our new neighbours had prepared delicious Indonesian dishes for us in their new kitchen. The kitchen was in stylish anthracite grey with some gold accents on the wall. The food was not only tasty, but also had vibrant colours and beautiful textures.

When we got home (just in time for the Covid curfew) I was very inspired by the textures and colours of the food against the anthracite grey background of the kitchen. The next morning, before breakfast, I started working on a series of 7 paintings, inspired by the colours and texture of delicious food.

I like to read inspirational quotes to get into the right mindset for painting. For this series I have used quotes from celebrities about cooking.

This colourful Abstract Statement Art already hangs in living rooms, bedrooms and offices of other art collectors and is unfortunately no longer available. In the Webshop you can see inspiring works of art that are currently available. Both on sale or available through art loan.
